I felt impressed by the Lord to write up prayers taken from biblical text. While it is a practice of many to pray the Psalms, which are beautiful, there are many other things all throughout scripture that we can pray as we strive to become more like Christ every day. I pray this prayer based out of I Corinthians 1 will bless you and bring you a deeper revelation of the One who sits on the throne, Jesus Christ.

Lord, today, as one who has been sanctified in Jesus Christ, I receive afresh Your grace and peace. Thank You for willingly bestowing them upon me anew each day. May I be enriched in all things in You. May I grow in all speech—prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues, and sharing of the word. May I also grow in my intimate knowledge of You so that the reality of Who You are may be seen in me, and I in no way lack in any spiritual gift. Lord, because you have called me into fellowship with Your Son Jesus Christ, You are faithful to keep me to the very end, making my character mature so that I will be found blameless when you return.

Lord, according to Paul’s exhortation in I Corinthians 1:10, help me to live in harmony with my brethren, putting away all division, and being perfectly united in our common understanding and in our opinions and judgements. Lord, You are one, and no division is found in You. Therefore, make us one.

Father, help me to share the cross of Christ in truth and simplicity, not muddles with philosophical arguments which empty the cross of it’s true power. The world and those that do not believe in You see the message of the cross as foolish, but we who know You recognize it’s true power.

Lord, You designed it so that it would be impossible for the wisdom of this world to lead people to Yourself. The simplicity of the cross baffles the intellect of the world and demonstrates their foolishness, causing them to stumble. May we who believe in You hold fast to Your mighty power and wisdom. For Your foolishness is wiser than man, and Your weakness is stronger than man.

Lord, You called those who are not considered wise, mighty, or noble as it pertains to the flesh. But You have who are lowly, foolish, and weak so that You may shame what the world considers wise and strong. Lord, You have chosen the insignificant to bring low those who deem themselves significant, so that none may boast in themselves, but rather glorify You.

Lord may no prideful boasting be found in me, but may my boasting always be in Jesus who is my wisdom, my virtue, my holiness, and my redemption. Amen.
